Anarchists eat children, you know!

Last Sunday I took Lydia to a wonderful children's theatrical performance at the Yfanet (Υφανετ) squat. What was once an factory, abandoned for over 30 years has been turned into a performance space by the local anarchists. A little like Christiana in Copenhagen.

After the performance by El Paso (Ελ Πασο) we all went to paint a section of the wall and later played all kinds of great games in the huge empty spaces that once housed hundreds of looms.

Then there was a communal lunch, which included some of the best food I've eaten in a long while. And who said lefties don't know how to enjoy themselves?

Theatrical performance

Over the weekend I took Lydia to see a wonderful theatrical performance by the Paidiko Steki Rethemou (Παιδικο Στεκι Ρεθυμνου). They are part of an alternative educational philosophy which seeks to empower learners and break down authoritarian teacher - student roles.

For more ideas on this check out the El Paso Paidiko Steki (Ελευθεριακο Παιδικο Στεκι El Paso) - It's only in Greek but when I get time I'll translate some of it into English.
